maggie o’Brien is a writer, artist, Educator, and visionary

All of my creative work begins with the body.

Words written by hand, clay sculpted by muscle, books printed by body, all born from the physicality of chronic illness and experience of being queer.

It also questions the material world. A free-spirited and depth-seeking Sagittarius, my writing and research explores the esoterica of spirituality, neurology, quantum mechanics, the environment, literature, ancestry, queerness, futurism, Buddhism, wellness culture, AI, consciousness, poetry, and much more.

My work has been recognized or otherwise appeared in the Indiana Review, American Short Fiction, Leviathan Magazine, Living on Earth radio, and others. Two Birds One Stone is my debut book-length publication.

I’m also the founder of Uncommon Futures, a pathway counseling company empowering a new generation to follow uncommon paths for the common good.

“Maggie is a writer and guide, weaving language, intuition, and practical brilliance into a singular practice. She helps people articulate the futures they long for, step out of old scripts, and build lives that feel imaginative, grounded, and wide open to possibility”
